At Creative Mutant, we love turning challenges into successes. When we started managing social media for Five Guys Australia, we faced a big problem. But instead of letting it hold us back, we used it to make things even better. Here’s how we did it, using both our technical skills and a personal touch.
The Problem
A few months ago, Five Guys globally switched to a new tool called Sprinklr to schedule social media posts. Before this, we used a different tool that worked great. But with Sprinklr, posts weren’t going out on time. Our reach and engagement started to drop. Fans were missing out on updates, and the community we’d built was less active.
Finding the Issue
We dug into the data and saw that the scheduling issues were hurting our performance. We knew that posting consistently is key to staying visible on platforms like Facebook and Instagram. When posts don’t go out as planned, fewer people see them.
Taking Action
We didn’t just focus on the technical side; we thought about the people who love Five Guys. We knew they were missing out on fun posts and tasty burger pics. So, we talked to the Five Guys Australia marketing team. We explained the problem in simple terms and suggested a solution.
Our Solution
With their agreement, we switched to Meta’s scheduling tools for Facebook and Instagram. These tools are reliable and made sure our posts went out on time. But we also saw this as a chance to improve other things:
- Better Captions: We wrote more engaging and friendly captions to encourage fans to comment and like.
- Talking to Fans: We made sure to reply to comments and messages quickly, making fans feel heard and valued.
- Watching the Numbers: We kept a close eye on how our posts were doing so we could keep improving.
The Results
After making these changes, we saw great improvements.
August 2024
Facebook: Reach and engagement both more than doubled after switching scheduling tools.
Instagram: Engagement started to recover, with a smaller drop than the previous month. Interactions with Reels went up by 48.5%.
September 2024
Instagram Reach: Went up by 38.5% because of consistent posting and better content.
Engagement Rate: Increased by 4%.
New Followers: Gained 90 on Instagram and 15 on Facebook.
Our technical fix got our posts back on track, but our personal approach—writing friendly captions and chatting with fans—made our community more active than ever.
October 2024
The opening of the new QV store in Melbourne gave us fresh content.
Instagram Followers: Added 348 new followers.
Engagement: Big increases in how many people saw and interacted with our posts.
Facebook Followers: Gained 41 new followers.
By being active and engaging, we made the most of the excitement around the new store.
